About GoGreen

GoGreen is an annual event in Swift Current that aims to beautify our community while reducing our carbon footprint.

2026 volunteers will plant over 280 trees and shrubs across 7 project sites, beautify an additional 4 project sites, and collect trash around the city.

Volunteer registration is now closed. If you missed the registration window but would still like to volunteer, please contact Danika Messer to be placed on a project site.

Shrub Planting:
- North of Highway #1 qty. 120
Flower Bed Clean up:
- Ashley Park Soccer Pitch
- Troelson Park
- Hillcrest / 13th Ave
- Kiwanis Park
Chinook Parkway Garbage Collection
Cave Pasture BioBlitz: the Nature Conservancy of Canada will host 50 high school students to catalogue native prairie plants and animals into iNaturalist

Volunteer Information

GoGreen is made possible thanks to our incredible volunteer base. Each year, as participation continues to grow, we welcome over 100 volunteers!

Volunteer shifts run from 9:00AM – 12:00PM and 1:00PM – 4:00PM.

GoGreen volunteers receive a complimentary meal at our GoGreen Community Lunch.

Burger, chips, & drink for $10 | GoGreen volunteers receive a complimentary meal, while the general public is asked to make a donation. All 2026 BBQ proceeds will be donated to CMHA Swift Current!

GOGREEN HISTORY

GoGreen began in 2009 after consultations with the City of Swift Current revealed a need for a fall cleanup in and around the community. Since then, we have proudly organized this event each year as part of our commitment to environmental stewardship. As a result, GoGreen now draws over 100 community participants annually, including Stark & Marsh employees and clients. Over the years, GoGreen Swift Current has contributed to the planting of more than 4,500 trees and shrubs, helping to enhance our city’s green spaces.

Projects typically include:

Tree and shrub planting
Landscaping
Pathway clean up
Flower bed maintenance
Mulching

Beautification projects have also taken place in Cabri and Assiniboia; we continue to welcome requests from organizations as needs arise.
